Anti-Boy Scouts NIMBY
Posted by admin under: camps .
Chad D. Baus relates a story in Ohio about a couple who bought property only to discover a 450 acre Boy Scout camp next door with a rifle shooting range near their property. Now the couple are complaining that guns make noise when they are shot. Hm. They’re going to be shocked to discover that water is typically wet.
Banyas and her husband, Terry Speer, live on their 20-acre property, home to their Riverdog Art Studio, where the two artists make sculptures. The story says they have a hard time working with all the racket coming from the 450-acre reservation next door.
Is it just me, or is this something akin to moving in next to railroad tracks and complaining about the trains?
There are some weird details in the story including the fact that the couple installed loudspeakers on their property near the shooting range and cursed at the camp ranger. Boy Scouts? Not in my back yard!
