Pot Plants Near Girl Scout Camp

KPVI TV in Idaho reports that there was a massive marijuana farm near a Girl Scout camp there.
Authorities in eastern Idaho have busted a drug operation valued at $20 million.
Investigators say they found roughly 6,750 marijuana plants about 13 miles east of Blackfoot in the Wolverine Canyon area near a Girl Scout camp.
Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson says it’s one of the most significant drug busts in state history and one of the largest operations he has ever seen.
The investigation started last month after a hiker stumbled across the grow area. Investigators have been monitoring the operation using hidden surveillance cameras.
Johnson says there are no suspects in this case. He believes those responsible for the operation are heavily armed based on evidence from the surveillance video.
I for one would like to know what happened during that month between the discovery and the start of the investigation and exactly how many Girl Scout cookies were sold during that time. Peak season? Seriously though, it’s a good thing none of the girls wandered into that area. 13 miles is not a very long distance for counselors to explore between weekly camp sessions and narcotics criminals aren’t really friendly at all. Thank goodness all the girls are safe. This isn’t the first time Girl Scouts have been in close proximity to the illegal green.
