Swine Flu Spread to Colorado Scout Camp

Boy Scouts at camp in Colorado have tested positive for Swine flu, but now that people are getting used to swine flu being handled the same way as normal flu the camp isn’t being closed nor are the other campers being evacuated.
A Boy Scout and a scout leader from Plano have tested positive for swine flu at a Boy Scout Camp in San Isabel National Forest in Pueblo County, Colo., Colorado health officials confirmed.
They were among a total of 29 people separated from the rest of campers and staffers after showing flu-like symptoms earlier this week.
They were the only two whose samples were tested by the state.
Colorado health department spokeswoman Sarah Bruestle said it’s likely that the 27 others also have swine flu.
Those quarantined are from Plano and Houston.
There are more than 200 campers and staff members at the scout camp, but health officials don’t believe they’re in any danger.
The health department has advised camp leaders that it is OK to leave the camp open and it is not necessary for parents to come and pick their children up.
The scouts now at the camp are scheduled to head home on June 20.
