Christmas Tree Giveaway

Some Boy Scouts couldn’t make money on their Christmas Tree Lot this year. So they gave the trees to those who needed them.
It has been a quiet year at the Marco Island Boy Scout’s Christmas tree lot.
…
That will drop their annual revenue from about $10,000 to just $6,000.
…
The Scouts decided to give the rest of their inventory away to anyone who needs one.
“Oh my God, this is great. It’s a nice little present – this is great, this is great,” said Marco Island resident John Kiley.
And as the families took home their new trees, the scouts took home something else – pride.
Nice touch. What I want to know is, what did I do wrong? We sold 450 trees this year and made only $4,000 after expenses. High cost of doing business in Los Angeles? Sure, the permits and electricity run us about $500, but most everything else is donated except the trees. Maybe we’re not charging enough. Well, I’m glad this other troop didn’t have to haul their trees away. That takes a lot of effort, too. Better to do a good deed and spread the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas!
