Cub Cabin

Posted by admin under: Community Partners .

A pack in Ohio just got handed the keys to a cool, old cabin in the middle of their town to use as they see fit according to Ellen Kolman. Boy Scouts built it in 1929 and the Cubs are getting to use it now.

“The Boy Scouts built the cabin in 1929,” said Council Member Paul Benak. “Many years ago the scouts gave up their lease and the cabin became village property.”

Cub Scout Pack 155 plans to improve the cabin inside and out, said Samantha Brandt, council member and assistant den leader for the Rock Creek Cub Scouts.

“We plan to replace some windows and repair the roof, as well as maintain the lawn,” Brandt said.

Now I’ve got to go walk around my neighborhood and find any old buildings that don’t seem to be in use so I can have a meeting place. Maybe not.
