Girl Scout Contest for American Girl Film
Posted by admin under: Community Partners .
GoGirlsOnly.org, a website run by the Girl Scouts of the USA, is partnering with the film “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” for girls 6 to 12 years old. In 150 words or less girls should describe how they have been a leader and made a difference in someone’s life or community and then submit the story at http://gogirlsonly.org/spotlight/gs_and_kit_kittredge/kit_contest_1.asp.
The contest is called “Celebrate the Leader in You” and participants may win a prize pack including a year’s membership in Girl Scouts or the Grand Prize which includes that and a trip to New York City with a $500 American Girl gift card for a shopping spree.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the star of the film, Abigail Breslin, was inducted into Girl Scouts in March and now the Girl Scouts of the USA is partnering with her film which was released today, July 2nd, 2008. It seems like a publicity stunt, but that’s okay. It’s a wholesome film and one girl is going to be very happy when she wins the contest and flies to New York.
The contest entry deadline is July 24th and the winner will be notified on or before July 31st.
