Jindal Gets BSA Award
Posted by admin under: Community Partners .
According to Stephen Sabludowsky writing on his BayouBuzz web site, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal just received an award from Southeast Louisiana Council. I thought that was funny because a different council, the Louisiana Purchase council, had some of their funding cut by Governor Jindal earlier in the year. However, the governor has been nice to Scouts and it looks like they’re excited to have someone that gives his time, if not the state’s money, to the BSA.
Then, last night, Governor Bobby Jindal glowed as he addressed the Southeast Louisiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s award dinner where he was presented with the Distinguished Citizens Award. The event was attended by over 300 community leaders who volunteer and financially support the Boy Scout troops in Southeast Louisiana.
The Governor’s web site has his remarks.
Governor Jindal thanked the Southeast Louisiana Council for the award and said, “The Boy Scouts teach and develop values that every parent hopes to instill in their child – personal responsibility, ethical decision-making, respect for your fellow man and community service. I am honored to receive this award. We are working to make Louisiana the best place in the world to raise a family, get a great education and pursue a rewarding career so young men like these here tonight will choose to stay in Louisiana to follow their dreams and become the future leaders we need.”
Hm. So they’ll stay in Louisiana. I wonder if that applies to Bobby?
