Girl Scouts Know What a Good Soldier Needs

Sure, cookies, but I’m talking about a different project that Paula Rhoden at Arizona’s Daily Courier wrote about. Strictly speaking it’s not so much a Scout story as a kid story, but the cookies feature.
The second-grade students at Lincoln Elementary School are sending about 200 DVDs to Master Sgt. Kevin Perlak.
Perlak, a sergeant with the Prescott Police Department, is serving with the U.S. Air Force in Iraq.
…
In one of his letters to the students, Perlak mentioned he had two DVDs, and he kept watching them repeatedly.
In less than a week, Dillon’s students and the second graders in Karen Hughes’ class collected about 200 DVDs.
The first donation Dillon received was a copy of “Barbie’s Swan Lake” and a box of Girl Scout cookies. That started the ball rolling, and the DVDs started pouring in.
“Yo, Master Sergeant, whatcha watchin’?”. “Barbie’s Swan Lake. Wanna cookie?”
Kids are so great.
