Posted by admin under: competition .
Thanks to ScoutSigns for reminding everyone that the deadline for the anti-smoking contest is coming up in just a little over a month. There’s still plenty of time to do what you need to do in order to win a free trip to any of the Boy Scouts of America’s high adventure camps.
Welcome to the Smoking Stinks Video Contest!
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
• Submit a video no more than three minutes long to the BSA’s Smoking Stinks video contest before March 4, 2009.
• Watch the Smoking Stinks videos and come back after March 5 to choose your favorites.
• Finalists will be determined by the number of votes received between March 5 and April 30, 2009.
• The winning videos will be announced and shown at the BSA’s 2009 National Annual Meeting in May.
• Click here to read the official rules.
WHY FIGHT SMOKING?
• Smoking is a drug addiction that kills people.
• Smoking makes everything smell bad — your breath, your skin, your clothes, your car.
• Remember: A Scout is clean!

• The top winner will receive a high-definition camcorder and an all-expense-paid trip to the BSA high-adventure camp of his choice (Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier, or Florida Sea Base).
• Three runners-up will each receive a sleek iPod Touch with 32GB of storage for music and video.
• Remember, many people will enter, but only a few will win.

It’s interesting that many of the Anti-smoking videos that were made by the scouts had a young man smoking in the video. Even if they were trying to portray the need to quit smoking, they shouldn’t have had someone smoking in their video.
