Girl Scouts in the Los Angeles area are being given an opportunity to take part in this year’s cookie advertising. This is the first time I know about that advertising targeted to cookie season is happening.

Girl Scouts Invited to Participate in 2009 Cookie Program Billboard Campaign
Deadline to Apply: 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009
All Girl Scouts from Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles are invited to apply for an opportunity to appear in the council’s 2009 Cookie Program Billboard Campaign.
The council and its banking partner Citizens Business Bank are working on a campaign that will include billboard placement along freeways and roadways throughout Los Angeles County during the boothing portion of this year’s cookie season. Be a part of the new council’s first billboard campaign and represent Girl Scouts!

This Cookie Season, girls will have a world of fun while making a world of difference. They are encouraged to set two kinds of cookie goals:

Application Process
· Submit an essay (300 words or less; approx. half a page) describing your goals for the 2009 Cookie Season
o How do you and/or your troop plan to use your cookie proceeds?
o How do you plan to make a difference in the world through the cookie program?
· Submit a photo of you participating in a Girl Scout activity (please ID yourself)
· Provide girl’s name, parent name, troop number and city, GSGLA region, phone number, and e-mail address
Girls must be available for the photo shoot scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at the Arcadia Service Center. Notification will be given by January 17.
All information should be submitted to Mary Broomfield, Director of Marketing and Branding, by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 via e-mail at mbroomfield@girlscoutsla.org, faxed to (626) 677-2420, or mailed to Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, Attn: Mary Broomfield, 101 E. Wheeler Ave., Arcadia CA 91006 (must be received by the deadline).
