No Fear Peanut Butter Cookies
Posted by admin under: cookies .
You may have heard about some peanut butter cookies that are being recalled due to fears that the peanut butter is contaminated with salmonella bacteria. That is not the case with your delicious Girl Scout cookies, however as the Chicago Tribune hastens to point out.
Go ahead and order Girl Scout cookies — the Girl Scouts say their cookies are not affected by the nationwide salmonella outbreak.
The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys said Monday that none of the eight varieties of Girl Scout cookies are part of the current peanut butter recall. Only the Tagalong and Do-Si-Do varieties contain peanut butter.
In an e-mail to its cookie sales managers, the local scouting organization said its cookie baker, Little Brownie Bakers, does not get any of its peanut butter products from the company that is under investigation.
Girl Scouts began taking cookie orders Saturday. Cookies will be delivered in late February.
Nope, no salmonella to worry about. Just lots of tasty calories.
