Denise Dalrymple is New CEO of Southeastern Michigan
Posted by admin under: Girl Scout Reorganization .
Well, the Girl Scout council by that name anyway. According to Crain’s Detroit Business,
The Detroit-based Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit and Clinton Township-based Girl Scouts of Macomb County-Otsikita councils are merging with the northeastern Fair Winds and Michigan Water Ways councils and part of the Ann Arbor-based Girl Scouts of the Huron Valley Council on Jan. 1.
Huron Valley’s Oakland County service area and part of its Wayne County service area will join the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan.
The consolidated council will serve 57,000 girls initially in eight counties and operate on a budget of about $14 million. It will be one of three consolidated councils in Michigan, down from 13 separate councils, as part of a national move by the Girl Scouts to strengthen its infrastructure and resources at all levels including fundraising, staff and volunteer support, public relations, and property management.
Whew! That’s a lot of people and a lot of money. Let’s all give a big welcome to Ms. Dalrymple! “Make new friends, but keep the old…” la la la, something gold.
