Another British Exchange
Posted by admin under: International .
I never would have known that so many exchanges with our brothers and sisters in the world of Scouting were going on if I wasn’t looking for examples. Here again, we find British Scouts coming across the Atlantic to visit the old colonies and enjoy the hospitality of the Boy Scouts of America.
“We’re hosting a group of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts from Derby, in England,” Shafer said in a call from the camp. “There are three Boy Scouts and five Girl Guides and then seven of their adult leaders over here now.”
The group arrived on July 30 and are flying back on Aug. 12. Their visit should even the scores between the two troops, after the American Scouts visited Derby in 2005.
They’re all seeing the sights including Washington, D.C. and New York. Dan Sokil gives more background on this great trip at http://www.thereporteronline.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19897666&BRD=2275&PAG=461&dept_id=466404&rfi=6.
