Army Major Talks About Her Iraq Scouts Volunteer Work
Posted by admin under: International .
Kathy Adams in the Virginian-Pilot has a great biography of Major Tina Schweiss, Brownie Troop leader and volunteer for the Green Zone Council in Iraq. I know I’m a bit of a manic on this whole Iraq Scouts topic, but I’m just so excited that we have this wonderful bond with our new brothers and sisters in Iraq.
“In other parts of Iraq where there’s Sunni extremism, they might join al-Qaida [sic] – they might be convinced to become suicide bombers,” she added. “This is a way to teach the kids the kind of values that will keep them away from those things.”
There’s a lot of good stuff in that article. Read it all, please.
