Scouts on Ice
Posted by admin under: International .
The World Organization of the Scouting Movement (WOSM) says that the European Scouting event called Roverway is now open for registration. It’s an international camporee held every three years and although it is targeted to European Scouts they are open to anyone from all over the world. The event is being held in Iceland next year and costs around 575 dollars. Don’t be prepared to sleep at this event from the opening on July 20th to the closing on the 28th because there will be 20 hours of sunlight each day that week and you’ll be touring the whole country.
Because this event is being held both through the WOSM and WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can sign up. So, Fara láta skrá sig! (random online translator says that’s Icelandic for Go Sign Up!) The only bummer note is that you have to be 16 to go.
