REI Wants You to Bike It
Posted by admin under: merit badge .
Stephen Regenold, aka the Gear Junkie, has a post today alerting everyone to a new REI page about bicycle riding.
To point, the site has how-to video demonstrations on fixing a flat tire and hand-signaling a turn; a calculator to show estimated environmental, caloric and financial savings of cycling over driving; and recommended cycling gear picks. Other tips cover bike maintenance and rules of the road.
I went ahead and clicked over to http://www.rei.com/bikeyourdriveas he recommended and saw the stuff he’d described. This is a great resource for those working on their bicycling merit badge (I won’t be surprised to see this referenced by ScoutSigns if they do a post on that merit badge). You have to know about the different parts of the bike and REI happens to have an interactive display about just that topic.
If you’re working on that merit badge and you want an easy online resource check out REI’s web site as Gear Junkie recommends.

Appreciate the resource! I’m adding to my “draft” on the Cycling merit badge now. Been under the weather a LOT this week, so I’m fighting back now, which means I’m behind and need to get caught up.
Hmmm, Architecture…
