Girl Scouts Go Ga-Ga for Yo-Yo
Posted by admin under: Outings .
How cool is it to take your great big troop trip and receive an unexpected benefit? The Oak Ridger says some Tennessee gals had that pleasure.
Oak Ridge Cadette Girl Scout Troop 523 recently spent five days taking in the sights and sounds of New York City.
…
They spent their final day in New York with a visit to the United Nations, where they took an informative tour and enjoyed the unexpected surprise of seeing and hearing the famed celloist Yo-Yo Ma practice with his band in the main chamber for an event that was to take place that evening.
Wow! I love chamber music and to hear it first-hand with a world-famous performer is the ultimate. I believe Troop 523 has earned some serious bragging rights after that trip. Neato bandido.
