I think it was a step in the right direction, just a shame it was hidden so well. And that is a seriously content-free presentation. It says, "we have a new plan, but we aren't telling you what it is right now." For the record, if anyone had asked me about a new uniform, I would have said to make it nylon and cheaper (they did that), make the neckerchief big enough to use for a sling, switch to thin, flexible Jacquard patches for the lighter material (instead of the plastic-backed, armor-plated patches we have now), and encourage a minimal field uniform. On our backpack last weekend, we found a lost dog and returned it to the owner. That would have meant a lot more if we'd all been in uniform. I didn’t hear about any of this. I realize scouting is a business.. but a poorly run business is going to fail no matter what.. and gouging scout families isn't going to encourage participation..
