Don’t Be That Guy
Posted by admin under: policies .
A Boy Scout got lost on a hike and did a few things wrong. He was separated from the main group without a buddy. The Boy Scout leader left him all alone. Staying with him would have violated the no one-on-one contact rule, but which is worse? Once the boy was lost he didn’t just stop and hunker down to wait for help (or as we say in Cub Scouts, “hug a tree”). Fortunately, everything worked out, but there have been instances where people tried to walk their way out of being lost and ended up becoming injured or dying. Don’t be that guy.
