Dee Dee Myers Distinctive Girl Scout Guest
Posted by admin under: recognition .
The Women of Distinction event seems to be a staple for many Girl Scout councils although I can’t remember my area doing one. @WorkingPRMama, handling publicity for the San Gorgonio Council which is in the Palm Springs, California area, is promoting their September event which will have the first woman Press Secretary for the White House, Dee Dee Myers.
Women of Distinction
Friday, September 25, 2009
The Historic Mission Inn Hotel, Riverside, Ca
Featuring Keynote Address by
DeeDee Meyers
Dee Dee Myers is the first woman and one of the youngest people ever to serve as White House Press Secretary. Ms. Myers is currently a Contributing Editor to Vanity Fair magazine and a frequent political commentator on NBC and MSNBC. In March of 1999, Gov. Gray Davis appointed Ms. Myers to the California State University Board of Trustees.
Dee Dee Myers’ book, Why Women Should Rule the World (Harper Collins, 2008) considers the question: What would happen if women ruled the world? Everything could change. Politics would be more collegial. Businesses would be more productive. And communities would be healthier.
Empowering women would make the world a better place – not because women are the same as men, but precisely because they are different.
