Niles Swim Saves
Posted by admin under: recognition .
Thinking quickly, Jeremy, now 14 and a Boy Scout in Troop 168 in Sparks, went over to his sister, now 10, and carried her to shore.
Thankfully, Lyndsie was OK and didn’t require any additional medical assistance, but it was his quick thinking that earned Jeremy the Heroism Award approved by the Boy Scouts of America’s National Council.
Jeremy’s background sounds familiar to adults who have watched their young men growing up in the troop.
Jeremy said he wasn’t as good of a swimmer until he joined the troop, and he also credits his first-aid skills in preparing him for the situation.
Way to go, Jeremy! From weak swimmer to life-saver. These are the men the BSA produces.
