There Was Something in the Air That Night. Fernando!
Posted by admin under: recognition .
Girl Scouts of the San Fernando Valley was awarded the 2008 Fernando Foundation Award on Sept. 13, one of 50 volunteer driven valley organizations recognized by the foundation for overall excellence.
The Fernando Award is the highest award for volunteerism in the valley and one of the top awards for civic accomplishment in the nation.
Beginning Dec. 1, Girl Scouts of the San Fernando Valley will join five other local councils to form Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. The new council will be among the largest in the U.S., with approximately 50,000 girls and 22,000 adult volunteers.
I can’t wait to tell the girls in my troop that they’re partial shareholders in this award. I didn’t even know they gave the award out for groups; I thought it only went to individuals and I usually try to figure out if I know any of them.
What a great feather in our beanie caps. I’m so proud.
Thanks to Kimberly Nitti for placing this notice in The Acorn. Hey. I actually do know her.

Just being spob. With all of the service projects and urban programs it could be anything, but you’d have to call Kimberly to know for sure.
