No Electronics in Boy Scouts!

It doesn’t actually pertain to this situation, but the phrase popped into my mind after I read this story about a Boy Scout getting assaulted.
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – A Boy Scout fights back after being attacked by a robber attempting to steal his cell phone.
Police say the young victim who was dressed in his Boy Scout uniform was walking on Highland Street when a black male approached him. The boy says the man punched him in the head then tried to steal his cell phone.
Pawtucket Police say the suspect was able to steal the youth’s phone headset but the boy, despite having been beaten up, refused to let go of the phone.
After a brief struggle, the suspect ran off with the headset. The victim, using his cell phone called police reporting the crime.
A short time later, police located the suspect on Clyde Street and took him into custody.
Authorities say, the suspect, 20 year-old, Derrell Brown of Cranston, was charged with second degree robbery and resisting arrest.
First, I had to make sure the boy was okay and then that old phrase popped into my head. I guess we should revise the blanket statement. We let our guys listen to their music on long distance trips in the car or on the bus. I also think it wouldn’t be a bad thing to teach these guys how to use a GPS. Of course, that’s after they’ve mastered basic map and compass.
I’m glad the Boy Scout was okay and I’m happy he was able to see his attacker taken to jail. Too many times these things never get resolved.
