BSA: Online Rechartering
Posted by admin under: Training .
We had Roundtable tonight and I went as a representative of the Pack. And the Troop. And the Crew. That’s it. That’s enough. Whew!
We were being trained in the online rechartering that I’ve been told other councils have been doing for a while (the training video was dated 2003). This was the same training I found and did online a bit ago (https://scoutnet.scouting.org/ucrs/Help/tutorial/main.html) so it was a bit repetitive.
I still have to check with Troopmaster because the commissioner said there was some sort of problem with uploading your data from that program and they want us to enter that information all over again once we go into rechartering time which starts November 1. Um I don’t think so. I’ll figure something out.
The process is really very simple with the only issue being that you should be able to enter 100% Boys’ Life subscription and at the same time not have every boy in your unit receive it because brothers at the same house could be reading the same copy and that’s supposed to work. I don’t know. In my troop we’ve always sent the magazine to every boy enrolled. No fighting over Pedro’s jokes then.
One of the former leaders of our troop is now the Roundtable Commissioner and he’s just the nicest and most helpful guy you’d ever want to know. It didn’t make the evening go any faster though. I was beng a little selfish because I had to stop listening to the Vice-Presidential debate to go into training but I’ve been able to watch quite a bit of it since. It’s like the MTV video awards. They just keep playing it over and over again. I couldn’t be more pleased. Politics is my kind of entertainment.
Tomorrow is another off day for me but the truth is that I’ll be getting ready for an event I’m running for the Cub Scouts on Saturday. We’ll call it a half day.
