Hi, I’m Joshua. I’ll be your host on boyandgirlscouts.com. I’ve been a Tiger Cub coach, Den Leader, Assistant Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chairman, Crew Committee Chair, Roundtable Committee member, Co-leader from Brownies through Cadettes, and Service Unit Membership Chair. This is all pretty standard for a parent involved in his kids’ Scouting careers.
This is also my first foray into running a website so I expect the appearance and administration to change as I become more familiar with the software. I’m leasing space on a Linux server hosted by 1and1.com and running Wordpress for the blogging software.
The reason I decided to start this blog is to keep an eye on developments in the Scouting world. There seems to be a general separation of the Boy Scout and Girl Scout worlds which I don’t agree with because I’ve got kids in both programs. I want to give out information and get information in return. I’m especially interested in resources we can share. Of course, I’ll be starting with some standard links to MacScouter and the like. I’m thinking of ranking Scouting websites so I can recommend the best ones to use.
I look forward to seeing how this turns out and how we can have answers to questions that plague us all. Happy reading!
