GSUSA: Scuba Scouts
Posted by admin under: Outings; Training; Uncategorized .
Four of our troop’s Girl Scouts recently learned how to operate SCUBA gear at Pepperdine University. A GSUSA leader who is a SCUBA aficionado thought she would extend an invitation to have girls learn this popular, but expensive sport. I jumped at the chance to have my daughter take part in this activity because taking normal lessons can run hundreds of dollars. Thanks to the Girl Scouts of the San Fernando Valley (soon to be Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles) my daughter received top-notch training for under $20.
If you are interested in a similar experience and you are near us you should inquire at the council. The leader was so pleased with the good time the girls had that she is planning future training adventures for the Girl Scouts. I know I’ll have my daughter there if there’s room.
