Is Time Running Out to Go to Jamboree?

Hat tip to New York OA Trader for the following story. The Greater New York Councils have already sold out of all their spots to go to the 2010 Centennial National Boy Scout Jamboree. Troops have been formed for a long while. If you want to get your son into a Jamboree troop to experience the incredible wonder of a national Jamboree (my son went to the last one) you need to get moving now! Yes, you can go out of council to get into a Jamboree troop. For the last one we had a whole patrol in our Jamboree troop that came from San Diego to Los Angeles. I don’t know how they were able to handle the troop meetings we had about once per month, but they made that incredible commute to make sure they were ready and informed. You can also get put on the wait list in case someone drops out, which unfortunately happens for a variety of reasons.
2010 National Jamboree- GNYC Contingent Sold Out
We are excited to announce that the Greater New York Councils has had such a tremendous response that we have already sold out all spaces for our contingent at the 2010 National Jamboree.
All five boroughs of New York City are represented in this contingent. Everyone is looking forward to an amazing Jamboree and centennial celebration.
A waiting list has been created any spots will be offered on a first come, first serve basis as they become available. Any inquiries regarding the Jamboree should be directed to Julio Garcia, jugarcia@bsa-gnyc.org.

The Hudson Valley Council (which represents the New York counties just north of GNYC) has less than 20 spaces left as well. We should be full soon! Way to represent, NY!

Our council’s contengent troop has been full since last november! We have a couple boys on the waiting list. Great group of boys, and I’m so priviledged to be able to go to Jambo with them!
